The President Michel Martelly, has designated this Friday, the entrepreneur Daniel-Gérard Rouzier, as Prime Minister. The announcement came after a series of meetings between the new Head of State and leaders of the Parliament. Beforehand, the President Martelly had written to the Presidents of both Houses of Parliament to inform them of the choice of Mr. Rouzier as Prime Minister. Saurel Jacinthe, the President of the Chamber of Deputies confirmed that Mr. Daniel-Gérard Rouzier had been designated by the Head of State as Prime Minister.
So that the nomination of the Prime Minister be ratified, it must now obtain a favorable vote in each chamber where the party INITE holds a comfortable majority. However, this formal designation, indicates that the President Martelly and the Presidents of both chambers have reached an agreement.
