Port-au-Prince out of fuel a few days before Christmas

Government attempts to alleviate the fuel problem that exists in Port-au-Prince last week.

In a joint statement, the Departments of Commerce and Finance announced that the government has allowed oil companies to import 90,000 barrels of petroleum products in the Dominican Republic.

The distribution of this stock of petroleum products has already started last Monday has already ended this morning. Most stations - service is already out of stock.

Note that the government had indicated in that statement, a tanker containing 232,000 barrels of diesel is 134 000 and 98 000 other products is expected on Wednesday in Port-au-Prince on Wednesday.

The authorities noted that cargo expected 22, this month should be sufficient to supply the market.

In this sense they are asking the public to avoid unnecessary storage products and give a guarantee that the market is normally stocked.

Meanwhile, long queues of vehicles and people with receptacles of any kind are visible at most gas pumps in the Haitian capital, where the shortage is felt for several days.
